Can anyone tell me what hte circled bit is please? its loose and rattling and getting on my nerves.

But what for and how is it supposed to be secured in place? As at the moment its not secure

Hard to tell from the pic, but looks like an electrics connection cover. Just shut it and cable tie shut to stop it rattling

If it's just a cover, then I would put a bit of electrical tape on the snap face of the clip (to take up the tolerance gap), this will ensure the cover assembles in tight. You should be able to make this a non-visual mod, as the sight of a cable tie my get on yer nerves too

Take it off, Does nothing but rattle until it falls off. (or damages the wires)

Tape up the wires, Take the box off, Should be fine, Check no wires will short against any others.

Probably caught it before it got worse.
