Non clio ice... sounds for my dolomite project

  Clio 172, Jaguar XJR
Hello all,

I’m looking for the best speaker set up.

I have a Bluetooth head unit with 2 sets of preouts, no real equaliser settings annoyingly just “Rock,Hall,Echo” arse thats no good to anyone!

I have an amp.

You can only fit 4 inch speakers in the front doors ( that’s it)

The rears 6.5 inch can fit on the rear shelf.

Would it be worth amping the 4inch speakers and having a nice set of tweeters ? and then the 6.5s in the back just to help it along for balance?

I’m going to lay all new cable and i want to integrate the tweeters into the top of the dash.

For the aftermarket tweeters will i need a crossover ? or do most tweeters now just know what frequencies to deal with?

I dont want to use a sub, Just want it to be decently clear loud and have enough
defined base.

Many thanks

James.

4 channel amplifier

4" front components. The components will come with x-overs
6.5" "mid-sub"s in the rear shelf, with the amp set to cut out high-end to those

No where you could mount a bigger pair of speakers without hacking the car to bits?

Kick pods perhaps? Would give you a bit more to play with.

pods may look a bit naff, I'd avoid them if it was mine.

a pair of well-powered, mid-bass 6.5"'s should be sufficient for the rears, something like these.

Use plenty of dynamat or similar to make the shelf and door pods as rattle-free as possible
