No air filter??

Hi just fitted new crankshaft sensor(fiddly sxxt) but while i had bonnet up thought i'd check condition of air filter(had the car a year) and to my suprise NO AIR FILTER!!!??? Cars been running ok y no air filter? Wots best one to fur it with please?

Some bellend worked on it before then! Get one fitted asap!! Any from a auto factors will do at about £10. Or you could spend more on a panel filter that'll be slightly better

Flol...its been driving fine for a year? Have you never noticed the deep induction roar?

Any pics of the engine bay at all?

Thats wot i couldnt work out no sound of induction at all,ye running fine apart from crankshaft sensor and having to change coil pack???

No pic just standard 172 under bonnet.

So y no induction sound?????

As mentioned though. Get a panel filter fitted ASAP.

I'd imagine your engine oil looks like marmite. Probably worth flushing IMO.

It fine. Running no filter isn't the end of the world.

Obviously it's not ideal but it's not as though the thing's going to blow up instantly just because you've discovered it hasn't got an air filter. It would have gone on for years being fine if you'd never noticed.

I would guess that it'll be knackered. Cleaned out my airbox the other day and it was full of small stones/leaves/bugs etc. all of which will now be inside your engine.

Like i said running fine so will just put filter in change oil and sure it will be fine
