Newbie - Rushy and his..GTi :p

  106 GTi
Hi there,
not the normal Cliosport member here.

My names Rush, and I own a err. 2002 106 GTi :rasp:

But there is a reason why Im on here which I will get onto in a sec! Ive proudly
owned my GTi for 2 years exactly now. Got it 101% standard, and to say its
tranformed over the years is a bit of an understatement. Very track based,
the more its progressed the more track focused its become....

A verrrry long history behind this one. Lets just say 200 pages of Forums
worth haha!

Anyways, if you've made it this far. The reason Ive joined rather than
using up all your internet connection up is cause a mate of mine has picked
up a MK1 1.8 16v Clio.

Hes got pretty big plans for it like I have had with my GTi. He's taking the
same approach, no expenses spared on all the best parts.
And basically wants the car setup for fast road, light track use.

My GTi has been blessed with Bilstien suspenion/Wilwood brakes/Polybushes
all round/Pugsport and Magnex exhaust parts/Supersprint manifold yak yak
yak.

Were looking at parts for the Clio, but dont really know what does and doesnt
work. I will have a flick through the forum, get bashing that Search button!

But are the any recommendations towards the suspenion, brakes, and exhaust
systems on the Valver?

Do Bilstiens and Magnex suit the car? Or is there better out there?
Cheers guys, sorry to chat your ears off! Rushy

Cheers matey. Last year was a great year for the Pug. Attended both FCS and
Trax. Both were pretty w**k tbf but tracktime was awesome.

Just been reading up on stuff for the Valver. Supersprint seem to do manifolds
which is pretty cool. Cant find if Bilstein do suspension though.

Thats a mint gti, good luck with the valver if it ends up like the gti it will be a minter

  Hyundai i40
fantastic gti.......love it

welcome to cliosport and get clicking that search button....im sure you will find everything you need

  106 GTi
Thanks for the welcome guys!

Being honest I think I have all the answers I was looking for which is awesome!
Hopefully the Clio will be a bit special. Expect pics of its progress soon.

Only thing is, I have a Magnex backbox on mine with a Pugsport (scorpion)
straght through pipe. Its a one peice centre section inc decat.

Are there any centre sections like that for the Valver?

The magnex backbox as its quite large keeps noise down until you open up
the 16v's on the 106 :p

Hey Rushy,

Are those OEM Xenons or just very McCoy looking HID's? If so, official Pug ones?
They look the part, love the car too. Very tidy effort.
What sort of times/spec is it running now?

  Clio 197
Mate that is one lush GTi. Always been a big fan and would love to own one that mint. Wheels, lush, Bodywork, lush. You shud sort out a pugsport exhaust though. Those things are the tits.

heya Pablo. There called Projector Headlights I think. They are not discontined
which is why I love them even more. Had to really hunt a set down. Just
normal headlights with normal bulbs but look a lot better than the cheap
Halos that most owners go for.

Being honest it is a really good example of a 106. Bodywork bar the front
bumper is perfect. Does need a good detail/buff but otherwise its mint.

Ive just gone for simple and effective mods. From delocking to colorcoded
wheel nut covers! Tis the perfectionist in me.

Not had it RR or dont any 1/4 miles. But engine is standard except for the
exhaust and BMC filter. Its been totally gutted so must be a lil bit quicker?

Its the corners that I love though

That is a smart 106, and I never thought I'd hear myself say it... so well done ;)

LOL! Cheers mate! I absolultely love it.

Thank you mate. It actually has a Pugsport centre section. But I didnt like
the sound of the pugsport. Very raspy and wet fart like haha! So I had
a custom job done and had a Magnex backbox fitted to the Pugsport centre.

Another first of many other bits and bobs for 106s!

I really cant wait to get this Valver sorted, we will both be at FCS2008 hopefully
on track so fingers crossed see some of you there.
My two fav pics to date are:

Its going in for a rear SD cage to be fitted soon and a Quickshift gearshift
to be fitted too. Some custom old skool Rallye doorcards will be slapped on
to finish it off as I hate the fact it has no doorcards at the moment!

The valver will be the new project I get to help out with which is why I need
you help.

Again thanks for the warm welcome. Will get some pics of the Valver to see
what you guys thing/recommend.

The Gold one right? How you doing mate. Didnt get to chat to you enough
that day. Was soo many people.

Was saying to your mate with the Saxo that the few of us that didnt get
pics taken should go back one weekend. I never got no shots of mine!

Hows the car running these days anyways?

LOL. I got quick hands. Quicker then a Dogbox :p

really well maintained n modified that mate, look forward to giving it a nosey at fcs this year

I think thats what it is about the car, its just been well looked after and
serviced in everyway possible. I was reading up into that Silkoline oil, never
heard of it before but my car will be living off it come its next 3000mile service.

It lives on BP Ulimate and that Shell Stuff already. Probably doesnt do nought though :S

My old GTi. You might remember it...

DSC_0064-1.jpg

Dont remember seeing it at FCS but I pretty sure Ive seen you on 106OC?Very nice mate. Some times I wish I spent less on the GTi and kept it nice
and tidy like that. Looks awesome.

Hahaha! No way. That was way back now. Good memories. Took us ages to
get it like that. Was so worth it. I really rate the Blackfire range. There new
Midnight something Wax is amazing.

Actually saying that, I remember being surrounded by Clios at that petrol station
when I was cleaning it. Im afraid to say though they were all using the Jetwash
and BRUSH on their cars!!! Tut tut..
