Newbie Needing Help Induction Kit Fail

Hi Guys/Gals

I have just joined up as needing some help with my partners car it's is 52plate 1.4 16v Clio cracking wee car with full 172 interior but all is not good the previous owner fitted a Pipercross Induction Kit on it however it's drawing in so much air it either just cuts out when revs drop cold or hot running and it's just crap so I'm after some advice either how to sort with parts or help on putting it all back to standard as it's not the type of engine that will benefit a great deal with such a kit fitted. Here is some pics so yous can see for yourself

Thanks in advance for help given.

Thanks

I don't know if you have one nearby but I would just go to a scrappy and strip the assembly from a car there. Maybe put in a new paper filter as one from a scrappy would likely be ruined anyway.

Thanks mate yes I have some around me I could go have a look see if they have anything matching what I should need, Cheers

Having no air box/piping up to the throttle butterfly will make no difference to how it runs. Well maybe minimal if you take into consideration inlet lengths and pulse tuning but it's a 1.4 n/a. Even an eBay electric supercharger will make zero difference to the inlet pressure.

As mentioned - go to a scrappy and get a standard set of parts and bung a new filter in there from Renault / Halford / EuroCarpets. I'll make no difference.

I'd bet you a shiny penny you'll still have an issue. Are you near any Renault Specialists...? Where are you based...

Not sure how long you've had it or what it's service history is like but running badly and the state of that coolant (is there anything in it !?) I'd say that needs a damn good service from someone who knows what they're doing..

Have to agree as it goes I'm starting to think it has nothing to do or mostly to do with the issue of her car the previous owner says he was a mechanic I beg to differ on this to be honest, I'm located in Livingston Scotland unsure if there is anyone near other than big steelers as I myself have been driving BMW's for many years so this wee thing is just a thorn in my side lol but the misses loves it other than drives crap just now, we have just had it a couple weeks V5 hasn't even came through as yet for it but have to agree it needs a right good service it's the partners first car so want to get it nice and running good for her.

Thanks for the help
