Newbi here from Stoke on trent

Hello, my name is Ash and i have just bought my first Clio phase 2 172.
Its got 113,000 on the clock and has just had the Dephaser pulley changed and cam belt ect.

Looks pretty tidy.

I looked behind the engine today and saw this:

It looks fairly new and is it stranded ?

Faults i have, It feels quite slow, i mean i have had a Corsa c20xe before and it feels slower and the MPG is really bad, £20 = 80mi
Also noticed that when i nock my cat it rattles, would this have a big impact on fuel ?
