new spring/s

  182
due to the state of the roads around here, i managed to snap my front passenger suspension spring (long story short!).

took it to the garage to get the spring replaced. first question, should both front springs have been replaced? im not sure what hes done as my dad took it and picked it up due to me being at work and i don't have the invoice yet.

second question. when i put my brakes on and come to a stop, then apply the handbrake and remove my foot from the brake, the passenger side of the car raises up a little bit. any ideas what this could be? im a little confused and all i can think is that only one spring has been replaced and it sits differently to the other side.

but the garage doesn't have to. im sure my dad said he mentioned a pair and he saw two.

but i don't understand what would make it raise at the passenger side if it isn't that :S

you should always replace springs as pairs. but if only one has been replaced then it will need to settle in so im guessing that could raise one side when any pressure is taken off it?

i've had a think and the handbrake is lighter than it was before.

could it be the handbrake cable has snapped between the passenger side and the main cable going back...meaning that one side is held on but one isnt?

if so, can I tell if that has happened easily?
