new clutch?

  Clio 1.5 dci
The clutch started slipping on the clio today, the pedal is much lighter to depress now as well.

I know its not much to go on but does sound like a new clutch job? and also the problem is i moved to a new area 8 days ago so i dont know any good garages around to get the work done.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also the car hit 80k last week!

Tbh the best specialist in the region is Dan @ SJM, but he is up in Somerset.

This is for the DCi I take it though, so most garages should be able to handle it.

surely any garage can change a clutch, i managed to do mine on my 182 without any issues and im no mechanic..

Out of interest, did you take it out from the bottom or top?

didnt take it out, just removed the rads, battery tray, shafts etc, bottom top and dogbone mounts, unbolted the box and moved it all the way to the near side and this gave enough room to take off the clutch place.

I was going to take the box out the top but i gave up, its like a Chinese jigsaw taking it out the top, i then realised i didnt even need to take the box out to get the clutch off!

Plenty of room when you shift the box over into the arch

This sounds like a helpful approach, think its time for mine to be done and i was wondering the same thing!

oh and i wedged a brick under the box once id placed it where i needed it so that i didnt need a second pair of hands whilst unbolting the pressure plate
