Hey there, picked up my monaco blue 172 on friday after putting a deposit down on it last sunday, so it was a long old wait to pick it up lol. Been looking at Type R's and 206 GTi's mainly, but my mate has owned a 172 since december and have always liked it. So when this one popped up I thought why not.
Its a 2002 with 63000 miles on the clock, was a bit higher than I wanted, but as it had full main dealer service history and the owner had owned it from 8 months old, I was pretty happy. Paid £3400 for it. Its in brilliant condition, and the interior is immaculate for its age and milage, as the seats and steering wheel seem to wear quickly.
It has a couple of minor problems, the climate control fan is buzzing, took it out yesterday and cleaned it but still buzzes!
Think it may have a CV joint knock, makes a knock every now and then when on full right lock. Theres also a squeak coming from somewhere when I go over bumps etc. Need to find out what that is too. Have a temperature sensor missing in the drivers side mirror, will that affect the reading?
Apart from that, its all smiles from me!
