ANyway he's had a new replacement and the light on the back won't turn off. Anyone have any ideas?

Pull the battery while it's powered up, stick it back in an let it do it's 5 mintue power up(if it takes aslong as the Bold that it, mine used to take forever).
Should sort it, but if it still happens get it replaced or reinstall the OS.
