My bog standard mk2 1.2 16v ph2, keeping it standardish

  Renault clio 1.2 16v
So I'm on to my 2nd clio, I've had her for just over a year. Will be keeping her pretty standard as I don't believe there's much point heavily investing money for little gains. Not interested in the non sport haters, although I'm sure they'll pop up lol. Going to be doing some subtle and some not so subtle changes. So far I have painted the rubbing strips, spoiler and wing mirrors a different colour to the car. New sound system has been installed, just deciding wether to get an amp or not.

Jobs I want to do soon are:-
Colour code bumpers
A set of alloys
New air intake (hate the big box on my engine)
Some decals
Amplifier (possibly)
Headlight restoration
Paint the badges
Struts

Not sure about anything else

Plans sound good mate, have you thought about a set of sport grills to finish the front off? What sort of alloys do you think you will go for?

Other than the alloys I'm going to keep the outside looking stock, apart from the obvious coloured plastics. Speaking of alloys, I've not seen any that have caught my eye. Not sure if they'll be coloured or not either.

However I was looking at these

Yeah I was thinking the spokes are a bit on the skinny side, trying to find something subtle but also something that stands out from the crowd

Do the bits in purple the same colour as the car, as right now it just looks like you have some bits from someone else's car shoved on.

Well everybody's entitled to their opinion and I appreciate the comment. Once the bumpers, door handles and badges are finished then it will all tie in. IMO I think colour coding has been done time and time again, I prefer to stand out and not follow the herd and want my car to reflect that.

Before l got my 182 l had a 1.2 16v Clio “Extreme” and l was really impressed with it, the engine was lively and it handled well.
Although it was 13 years old with 86,000 miles everything worked on it and there was no rust whatsoever.
It also did over 40mpg despite being driven enthusiastically

In fact it was what got me on to the 172/182.

Without the sport bodykit it'll look pretty Pony, but the installation of some vinyl stripes is pretty straightforward.

I was thinking of doing one thick stripe and one thin stripe the same colour as the wing mirrors on the right hand side of the bonnet
