Multitimer Unit

  2004 Clio 1.2 16v
Hello ppl.....im having a bit of probs with my indicators.....

ive narrowed the problem down to the multitimer unit that lives under the dash on the passenger side.

The haynes manual says that disconnecting this will render it useless until it is reprogrammed.

Is this the case? How does it work...because you can disconnect the battery yet it is still ok???

Any help would be great!

I've had the battery off millions of times and disconnected the UCH when I was fitting my alarm and never had a problem. You'll be fine.

Though if you need to fit a new one then it'll need to be programmed to the car, and if you remove it things won't work. Thats the point their making, its just worded badly.

so its cool to take it out....look for damage and then put it back?

no reprogramming needed?

thats only needed when you change it?

Cheers
