mk3 interior light help

Im trying to install led footwell lights into my mk3 clio and would like them to come on with the interior light, now i have looked at most of the guides on here but none of them cover the mk3 as when i pull the interior it isnt 3 wires coming off its a long completely flat cable (ill take a picture when i can) and i have no idea if it would be possible for me to tap into that source and if so how as im sure a couple of people have achieved this in a mk3?

I looked into this on mine, the flat cable plugs into a proper cable in the pillar to the left of the windscreen. There's three cables, live, earth, and switched live IIRC so one for when the door opens. I would have tapped into that and added the lights but I sold the car.
