Mk2 aftermarket steering wheel

  Recaro'd 182
changed my wheel today and noticed that there two lugs on the back of the clio 182 wheel and not on the omp boss.

Do you need these lugs on the wheel (see pic below) to drive the steering wheel position sensor? Look at the two slots at the 3 and 9 'o' clock positions.

i am going to either use self tapping screws as mike at rentech said or weld on to lugs to the boss tomorrow at work.

Just wondering if i need the lugs or not? Does the 172 wheel have the lugs on the back?

Thanks,

this is only a guess, but might that be related to the cancellation ring for the indicators?

ed. check by pulling indicator stalk up/down and then spinning the disc to see if that cancels the indicators. does look like a cancellation ring to me
