Mk1 wiring loom question

I've had the dash out of my mk1 recently and noticed that there were a lot of spare plugs and connections that are not in use, taped to the body work,
This got me wondering , do all mk1's have the same wiring loom ?

The main reason I'm asking is I'd like to put some speakers in the rear and wondered whether the wiring is already there ,hidden away somewhere ?

Yes. they are the same on the inside.

The speakers, easily found. There are two speaker wires either side as you already know (where the side blowers are, unscrew these and pull out they will be there)


There are two speaker wires in the door also. So you can have 4 speakers are the front.


Two speakers in the back at the parcel shelf. You should have the wires already there. If not, pull back the carpets on either side and look at the black channels on the arches.
They should be in those channels taped up or just lying.
