Just test drove a 1.6 16V Privelige, was great fun and had more kick than i expected, although I'm only used to driving the 1.2 16V

When you turn the ignition though, there's a buzzing noise which I think is the fuel pump. In my 1.2 it stops after a few seconds but on this one it wouldn't go off, even after 10 mins of driving, is this normal? Or is there a problem? Could it be due to the car sitting around for a few weeks without being driven? :S

I have just bought a 1.6 Privelige.
I love it, haven't got any buzzing noises though.
I do hear a fan type noise winding down when I switch off but I assume this is just the aircon or rad fan.
Can you describe it a bit better?
Does it sound like a pump/electrical buzz/ is it related to engine speed/road speed?

It's got climate control yes but it was off at the time.

The noise was coming from in front of me, in or behind the dash.

I checked under the bonnet and it sounded like more of a constant high pitched beep from there.

The dealer reckoned it was the fuel pump but couldn't explain why it didn't go off after a few seconds like it should.

The buzz is a constant pitch and volume, it doesn't change with engine speed.

I should add that the noise is on before the engine fires, when you turn the key to the second position.

my wheel bearing made noises for ages and i didnt realise...some tosser claimed it was the exhaust.

imo, get an initiale if you want a bus or get a dynamique. You need to toys and leather of the initale to trade off the fact that the interoir is fecking vile.

I had my old one at 18 with 1yr ncb for £980 with norwich union. Although obviously it varies.
