Misfiring

  Clio Williams 1,2 and 3
Right im trying to understand how the Lambda sensors works,

The pre CAT - Lambda sensor appears to be giving readings out, but the 2nd lambda sensor appears to be stuck on the same voltage and -100% and this reading doesn’t changed,

My car is currently misfiring, but when I disconnect both the lambda sensors the car is still misfiring and the fuel system says open loop after minutes or so the fuel system changes to close loop and the car runs fine

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Im getting these readings from the diagnostics software from my laptop which is connect into the cars OBC 2 Interface socket

Thanks,
Andy

if the second lamda sensord is stuck at 100% then there is your issue. replace it and see if you still have problems

I was thinking that, but some people on here don’t even have the second lambda sensor connected, so surely that second sensor doesn’t really do much ?

The first sensor needs plugging in the second doens't by having the second plugged in its confusing the car.

disconnecting the firsrt sensor will lead to trouble its needed for the fueling.
