Mazda MPS Clean

Did a little cleaning session on Phils new MPS yesterday and today. I quite like the car, really quick top end and would make a nice practical daily.

The car had some kind of sealant on but the paint was rough to the touch.

What I did - spray with pre clean stuff, rinse, snow foam, rinse, two bucket method, rinse, dry, tardis, dragons breath, clayed, polished and then waxed.

Pretty happy with the results. Paint feels lovely and smooth now but silver is never the most rewarding colour.

For some reason I find these really boring looks wise and I don't hink they have much about them, a bit like Gordon Brown with a wig on.

Has it broken down under the flyover
Only joking looks nice

The tax is offset against the really low insurance costs, plus for a hot hatch with 260hp it will do 30mpg as well as a daily so is one of the lower costing hot hatches. Ths silver aero looks really good as well.

I wonder how one would fair against a similar modded R26? Reckon you could easily shed 200kg(inc full cage), etune, decat and intake (300hp/300ft/lb), good coilovers, brakes (they use the ST brakes so DS1.11 or similar) and track tyres.

Think the R26 would edge it TBH as the diff in the Mazda isn't the best and they're quite nose heavy.

Interesting prospect though and unique i suppose.

My wife has a Mazda and it's awful to drive; hate the electronic throttle response and the vague steering. Forever put me off getting another Mazda.

I'd have one as my daily but not as my 'go out for a drive car'. The stereo is mega!

Yeah those bose speakers...although just wait for a CD to get stuck......

I miss mine, only because eventually, I just didn't give a f**k about it. They're pretty rapid too.

You'd be surprised. Midrange torque on the MPS is pretty savage. Not only that, but it can do it without throwing a rod, too .

What makes you think the diff isn't the best compared to the Meg?

Drive it harder, 'A Mazda' is a bit of a blanket statement lol

Not bad of a car, bottom ends are toffee on them tho.. got bored of mine after a year, had BNR S3 turbo (2871) with supporting mods heading for 380BHP but bottom end went one night on my way home from work and ditched the oil on the red hot Downpipe and went up in flames.

Dont miss the car altho i DO miss the bose and the torque for over taking
