Matt W's 172 cup

  Suzuki Jimny
After owning a megane coupe for a year I had taken it on track a couple of times and decided I needed something with a bit more power!

The megane:

Gave it a little clean down to have a closer look at the paint condition, it's not perfect but can be forgiven after having a drive of it!

Got rid of the renault sport stickers while cleaning it, then went for a drive

The 17" team dynamics had to go and went on the look for some turinis.
Found these for sale locally and got them instead.

All was fine, until the whining rear bearing decided to give up being a bearing!

Decided to change the rear pads and discs while I was at it.

As you can see the pads were a little low...

Then splashed out on some new wheel bolts

Then I hit a pothole at some point, and ended up with a snapped spring and dodgy track rod end, so replaced both track rod ends and got a new spring.

Trial fitted my 15" alloys

Fitted new rear number plate (Didn't have double sided tape for the front)

And then got some brand new rubber in the form of 4xToyo T1-R's

And have some new front pads ready to be fitted before the 'ring trip

Thats all for the moment!

(This picture makes me realise how much I need some coilovers!)

Also got 6 litres of Millers oil from opie-oils and an oil filter, all I need now is for the rain to stop!

Off to BTM performance tomorrow morning to get cambelt/aux belt changed + fresh gear box oil.

Update:

Had my cambelt+aux belt and my gear box oil changed yesterday by Fred (BTM performance) He did an excellent job on it and confirmed for me what parts I also need to replace (Exhaust+Engine mount).

Actually stopped raining today so I fitted my new front brake pads + Cleaned my throttle body (Checked by fred and it wasn't closing as it should do and was generally full of crap).

Old pads:

Then I cleaned the Throttle body:

Did a quick wipe and realised that it needed more elbow grease:

Todays update: I changed the oil and filter using Millers oil 5w40.

By the look of the oil that came out it hadn't been changed in years! The engine is sounding so smooth now and there is a bit more power.

Now need to get my exhaust replaced :(

them wheels on it before were shocking, the best thing you did was get rid of them

I don't know. It has a sticker on each door instead. Must have been added at some point.

I'm going to update this thread properly sometime!
