Manual sunroof is leaking

  2004 Clio 1.2 16V
I have a mk2 2004 clio and have noticed some wet spots in the two front corners of the headliner I know it’s caused by the sunroof as it’s a common problem with this generation but I don’t know how to solve it.
I read that it could be the sunroof drain vents but I have no clue how to access them to clean it. Also read it could be the seal but again have no clue how to go about replacing it

It could be: Blocked drains, rubber seal between car and glass or the silicone seal between the sunroof mount and the car. Take the sunroof glass out and pour some water into the drains either side and see if the water drops out behind the front wheel. If the water is draining then it is most likely the sunroof seal itself.

If the drains are blocked you need to run a pipe cleaner/long stiff wire down the drain holes found at the front of the sunroof.

If its the frame seal that's gone then you need to pull down the headliner around the sunroof and remove the frame bolts using a 10mm wrench (ratchet wrench makes life easier). You can then separate the frame and reseal with silicone or foam tape. I went with silicone as I don't care but I would suggest going with the foam tape as its less messy and less likely to ooze out from under the frame.

Potentially it could also be the rubber seal, you can buy replacements on eBay. I have a Clio that needed both a new rubber seal and the sunroof mount resealing 🙃
