Learning an acoustic guitar

Never played one. Played keyboard when I was about 11 for a year. I'm just wanting to learn to play a few tunes in summer with a beer. Also give me something to do. Can you teach yourself online? You see these online classes or is it better to have a few lessons. Also I'll just be after a second hand guitar probably to start with if anyone knows anywhere?

thanks.

I began to teach myself about a year ago and still loving it.

I would suggest subscribing to a guys channel on youtube called Marty who has a mixture of really easy beginner songs to some more difficult ones. Such as this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yo4iDxqhcqI

I think if you sign up to his emails you get some lessons on learning chords etc. I found his online lessons and song tutorials really useful and easy to pick up once you get used to the chord shapes and strumming patterns.

Also ultimate-guitar.com is really good for finding the tabs of songs you might want to learn.
