knocking noise :(

  Clio 200
only when turning the wheel to the right at slow speeds i get a sort of creaking noise but is fine at high speeds and no play in the wheel. looking through some of the posts on here would it be a safe bet that its the lower arm bushes or the arb that will be the problem?

and is it still ok to use the car?

Sounds like the common top mount problem, and there is no permanent fix for it.

You could try replacing the top mounts, sometimes that works.

Some clio's get it worse than others.

top mounts are the top of the suspension. You can see rubber donuts on the inside of the engine bay just where the suspension goes through the frame.

Its those :) you can buy solid top mounts, and there is another fix where people put washers in there to stop the knocking noise. Do a search for top mounts and you will see.

yozzasport.co.uk sell the washers.

There is a cure for this, renault have released a "solution". They tell you to grind away the top mount hole in the body to an oval shape to stop it rubbing.
