My car is a 2001 mk2 ph2 Expression. Central locking works on this key, however when I try to start the ignition sometimes it does not turn the immobiliser off? Yet if I take the key out of the ignition barrel then try again it will turn the immobiliser off and the car will start.
Other key is working fine.
Anyone help?
Also, while I'm here, does anyone know how the immobiliser works. I have opened the key up and there doesn't seem to be a way for the metal key to make a circuit with the chip inside the key. Is it a sensor?
