hi guys just joined this nice looking club just bought a clio 172 from your for sale section from some one called dan 1300 quid one
never owned a french car befor but seems very impressive had a lose engine mount and a blowing zorst mount now done just waiting to get in at topgear stockport for custom made zorst as its the same price as new cat lol
any off you guys got any clio advice or comon faults advice fire away
i live in the manchester area any off you guys about round here ?

says last service was 84k is on 94 k now and beltd where done then acording to last owner think i will do them any how though i have heard some things bout them going with the plastic pully

Yep, better safe than sorry. There aren't any major failings with them, but as with any car, parts fail with age. Have a browse on here, loads of useful information.

cheers bud will do do you guys have any track day enthusiast as this is really why i bought the car went to nurburg ring last year and went round in my friends 182 loved it this is why i bought the car his is set up for full full track mine is going to be bit off both

bought it sorted engine mount put full thorugh stainless hand built by local silancer company then day after cam belt snaped

my members club pack arrvied this morning lol this a bit of a kick in the b***s but the car will be at the garrage on tuesday for a full rebuild from the ground up will try to get some pics going for rebuild and new clutch well where there but hey i got my keyring lol

Take it to a specialist to get it done mate! Pleeeease don't give it to another random company.

Your nearest specialist would probably be Birchdown, over Malpas way (they're on here, but you would need to get your beast to them). I wouldn't let anyone do the engine as all it takes is for the cam to a slightly out and it will not run as it should. Definately don't let Lookers Stockport do it as they are absolute fuckwits.

How many f4r cambelts has he changed? And the f4r tools aren't the same as the normal Renault ones.

yeh i know he tracks one so i asume he knows his way round it an if it pops again then ill have a nice pot to put some plants in the garden and go back to trusty ford lol i think it will be ok

update on car just bought following stuff and killed credit card lol
up rated fast road clutch
cam belt and kit
aux belt and kit
water pump
and i have come across a 182 engine with all bits starter ect so that i would upgrade bit off a u turn i know but thought why not its a low miles engine
is there a diffreance one the ecu with 172 182 or just manifold and breather pipes?
if this engine has all bits and manifold then can i just drop it in and i will have 182 not 172 ? any help or info apreciated
