It is time to move on from the 182...

  Ford Racing Puma
... Hi guys!

I've decided to move on from the 182 to something a little more unique.

Before I do, I wondered what your views were on:

- How much I could get for mine
&
- What I want to get next !

Firstly, my car is a 182 ff with cup packs, arctic blue, ITG maxogen, Group N Ecu, Janspeed Exhaust, Brembo Max discs and yellow stuff pads (brand new). 04, 29k on the clock. Very good condition.

Secondly... I'm after an Alfa 147 GTA. Any views??

Cheers!!

Blown up 182 & Mondeo TDI
plus Alfas break twice as often as Renaults do, and the dealer backup is shocking.

Can vouch for hat, if has no warranty dont buy it! Nice car though, but round the TG test track it was only just uicker than the 182!

Well, I have a friend who is potentially looking to swap his Focus RS for the clio + some cash his way

Could be a more 'chuckable' alternative to the 147!

with the mods you got , dont think you that far behind the RS focus tbh .

you want more power and fun i'd look towards a good scooby or evo ??

Not everyone wants a car that is fast on track though, and straight line the GTA will literally pull away from a 182 with ease lol.

For the most amount of money I'd standardise the car and sell it for around 7.5-7.8k that money plus any saved and get DC2 or DC5 Integra Type-R imo.

Hmm, not a fan of Scooby's and Evos really...

Drove the focus today - a lot of fun really and more 'stable' on the dual carriageway due to the wide track

Very very tempted.

And yeah, didn't feel much faster than the clio (a lot more refined with its power delivery though) but if I bought one ... Hello Bluefin, plus other choice performance upgrades (which would feel a lot faster)

Yup, I like them but aren't they 4 seat??

I love the alfa 147 gta's I really do, but I hate the interior in them, I don't like the seats or the dashbord, so that rules that out for me.

A Focus RS isn't a bad car at all, plus as mentioned it won't have depreacitaed really when you come to sell it.

What is your budget ?

  182 Full Fatt!
I am rolling on the floor when I read you want a GTA! Awful cars!!!

If you don't fancy a Subaru or Evo (which I can understand) it has to be a Focus RS or ST. Build quailty is much better.

Tried a Civic Type R? Integra is a bit gutless but rare!

id go for the 147 gta myself.although we all no the break downs are a huge possibilty and the dealer network is pretty shockin and the end off the day you will have a car that is quite a rare tool and it certainly has a passion that comes with it.o the other thing is when you lift the bonnet and just see those polished inlets, the alfa has been detailed in every way imo

  182 inside
your better off taking all the performance stuff off and returning it to stock and making some money on the parts as you'll only make a big loss on the car with all fitted.

Unless a forum member buys it :)

Yeah I'm thinking of selling it to an enthusiast if I can. IMHO is has most of the *choicest* mods on it! Good condition, looked after what ever the cost.

Budget is £13k - £14k.

Drove an RS today and have kinda fallen in love with it. Crazy cornering ability and deceptively quick.

My mate's is a phase II with 45k on the clock. Great condition thou. What do you reckon it should be worth? I think £12.5k, looking at pistonheads as a benchmark?

  Ford Racing Puma
Id have said 13-14k. Was looking at them the other day, would love one.

Tell him 12 though ;)

Ha ha, will do. Just signed up to the RSOC forum and posted. They reckon I'll get a low miler for that money - the ST has knocked the prices down a bit in their opinion

  Cupra 300 ST 4drive
I have owned an Alfa 3.0 V6 GTV, tread very carefully when looking at Alfas, by the best you can afford, do not f-ck about with induction kits it kills AFMs at 200 quid a pop, Alfa dealers are useless, dont be put off by alfas that have had services at Alfa specialists these guys normally know V6s inside out. I was a member of GTVV6 forum you can get huge help off the related forums, buy off an enthusiast they normally cherish their cars ,anything autodelta, supersprint mods are good (expensive kit) and believe me these mothers are rapid in a straight line. Hope this helps a little

147's are pretty gash. Look nice but I doubt you would be happier with one. Focus RS is better option but interior is rank in my opinion. What about Megane?

I considered a megane but do much prefer the look of the RS. Agree the interior is an acquired taste!! Comfy though, I'm 6ft2 and it was easier to drive than the Clio (my knee hits my wheel when I change gear, even on max height :S )

  Renaultsport Clio 182
The 147 GTA cant lay its power down unless its already doing 50mph on a dry good surfaced road. I tested one before I bought the 182, the Clio would leave it for dead in the bends. However the GTA looks awesome and the engine is very special indeed with an awesome note!

Are you talking DC2 or DC5?

For the money of a 147 GTA, you're talking DC5 money, and I can assure you they are far far from gutless, and in a different class to a Clio.

If you can get your mates RS for 12k you'll be doing well (assuming it's in good condition etc) most of them are the 13k mark upwards, some are up for over 15k !
I like the RS I really, do - only downer for me is that as it's got big wing mirrors, I wouldn't be able to fit it down our drive (my mums got a 2.0 esp & it has to stay out on the street because of that:dapprove: )
