Installing OSX

I have a GENUINE copy of OSX and want to install it on my laptop, however the laptop wont boot the OSX disc. I have checked the bios settings to ensure its trying to boot from DVD drive first and still no joy.

Help?

OS X won't install directly on anything other than a mac because it requires EFI.

You can't. A retail copy of OS X requires EFI and not a BIOS.
