Inlet tech: Mk1 vs Mk2 172/182

Hi fellas, just a quick one.


I'm looking at a BMC CDA that a person (Who shall remain anon because I don't want to have to bid higher) has been running on their 172.

Now I've looked into them new and there's a shiteload running around for every different car, and I know that there's a difference between intake for Mk1 and Mk2.

What is the difference?

If it fits a Mk2 172 it'll fit a Mk2 182 though. That I'm pretty certain.
Also any tips/hints on cleaning the CDA? If it's 18 months old, any recommendations? Cheers guys.

mk2 172 and 182 are the same

mk1 172 has a shorter plenham.throttle body flange and is at a diiferent angle (using the cable TB)

both will fit either, its just a fiddle
