Injector clips - necessary?

Hi,

Are these needed for safety or just to stop the injector from staying in the inlet when the rail is removed?

I had a misfire so set on about swapping a couple of injectors about and one snapped as I tried removing it, I want to test the car now but not sure if it's needed for safety as the 2 bolts holding the rail should prevent it from coming out etc.

Misfire intermittent? I know that doesn't answer your clip question.

No I had a flashing EML light and diagnostics said misfire on cylinder 3, I disconnected the wiring to the corresponding injector and made no difference.

Hoping that Euro Car Parts are open tomorrow so I can get a new injector!

They're only there to keep the injector in the rail when removing them. I don't run them.

Doubt they're open on a Sunday when the Monday is a bh but you never know!

Just checked the opening times and they are shut tomorrow but open on Monday.....bit odd...

Well the stores that are open 7 days a week are shut, but open Monday which is a bank holiday....

Thanks mate but I'm up in Yorkshire, it would probably cost me more in fuel than the injector!

You must have a local motor factors open today.

Most Ecp branches are shut on Sunday's any time of the year.

I got sorted in the end, £35 for a new injector and the car is running once again
