Induction Kit on a diesel

  Renault clio mk1 p3
Hello all,
could a Induction Kit be fitted to a clio diesel!?

if so, what Induction Kit should i go for?

Thanx:cool:

get a panel filter and relocate the air feed for better breathing, also make sure the IC has good air flow even if it means cutting some bumper.

you can get upgraded FMIC`s for the dci. what power/version is it ?

also you can get grp N diesel exhaust on import + RS tuning (leeds) do a good remap of the DCI also torqtec http://www.torqtec.com/?ma=vehicles&make=Renault

a well sorted DCI 100 will produce more torque than a 182

hey, i'm interested in possibly getting an induction kit and/or air filter for my dci 65 (standard engine), seen these from the same seller on ebay:

What sort of power gain, fuel economy gain/loss, noise increase, etc would each of these cause.
WOn't givbe 1 hp gains might help reduce lag (but you'll never be able to tell) also unless its getting cold air forget it. It will make some noise though if you like that thats your choice.
No fuel economy gains unless you include the fact the extra noise may may make you drive easier.

I recently fitted a K&N induction kit to my DCI 100 & its sounds fab lol, louder lol particularly wen teh turbo kicks in, but then i love that diesel sound lol.
As for power increases, i spoke wiv the K&N tech department who say that if K&N can't guarantee an increase in horse power for a particular car then they simply don't make the kit for it, so would think you would get sum gains definitley. The guy i spoke to reckons 6-6.5% is typical of the induction kits. Can't say it feels like a beast or anything lol (remap next month :p) but its def louder, more responsive & a bit quicker at the top end too.

Well, yeah, right, who wouldn't believe the company selling them to be telling the truth.

Oh and on a different subject I've got this waterfront land I'm sure you'd be interested in buying. You can come look at it. Just make sure its high tide.

Had my car on the rollers yesterday, was well disappointed!!
The induction kit actually caused the car to LOSE power!! was a disappointing 93bhp with 119lbs torque. Not gonna bother to chip it now, thats proper depressed me, i'l get a 182 intead.
Austec Racing (the specialise in TVR from the looks of it) sed that the car would need to be remapped to benefit from the filter & that since it isn't then engine is running leaner (more air means less fuel apparently without teh remap) leading to reduced boost :( gutted
p.s) how much is a 182 on say an 03 / 04 plate?

182's or a 172 are quite cheap realy.

Engine place known nothing about diesel more or less air fron a filter etc make no difference to power unless the engine is running with dark smoke as dark smoke means unburned fuel. A diesel doesn't work like a petrol you cna run with 3 bar of boost and an induction kit from an F1 car and it won't make any more power that it would at 1 bar boost with a bad induction kit so long as you have no smoke.

You shouldn't loose powr unless the mixture is getting richer but unlike a petrols mixture isn't as much of an issue so long as yor not running dark smoke.
