I had a play with a 182 today!

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/Brazoo/182blue034a.jpgThis clio belongs to Gary G off this site who came to me after the recent renaultsport trackday at Oulton park as his car was covered in rubber and removing it appeared to induce scratches. The clio is around the 200bhp mark and pretty stripped inside

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/Brazoo/182blue010a.jpg

although not perhaps to yozzas level! I am sure Gary will tell more if he wishes lol! BTW I have his permission to display number plate:D.

Some befores

Some swirls

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/Brazoo/182blue008a.jpg

The paint was really dirty even when cleaned it appeared dirty due to the rubber/oil/tar stuck to the paint. It took the two of us 4 hours to get the paint in a condition before we could start to polish it! So much so that polishing and waxing was rushed and probbaly only 70-80% of swirls were removed.

Note the clean area after we removed white stickers!

And the afters? Can you spot the extra mod?

They new front tyres, mine are fooked after Oulton and there is no side wall. Brand new on too.

Very nice :D Should of kept the stripes though.

Washed, clayed, 83d, 80d, sealed and waxed mine today with the PC. Going to use the megs 21 tomorrow on it after the nxt tech wax today. Spent about 6 hours on it, pics will follow tomorrow.

P.S. the car is in the garage so it wont get dirty :)

Jay mate you shouldnt hit the car with DACP every time its meant for defect removal, whereas Im sure you did that last time?

Cheers Brazo....excellent job at an excellent price, well chuffed :D

Removed the stripes for ease of polishing, plus they had chips/scratches and slight peeling/bubbling in places....i quite like it without, i like symetry lol. Plus i think its less chav as ive never met anyone thats actually known theyre an option from Renault...they all think ive kevved my car:-( Doesnt help that its lowered, big exhaust, bright red seats and im quite young.

...May get them refitted in the future but i like it as it is for now :)

Car is lowered using GAZ coilovers, Loony is selling his...check the sale forum.

EVOgone...1.3 neg camber mate ;) lol.

Once again, big thanks to brazo for all the hard work....tea...sandwichs....mars bars and sample wax lol

On the Meguiars front am I right in thinking 80 and 83 require a PC or the like?

I do mine by hand and currently if im doing a full job Ill wash and clay, then tech wax and #16 all by hand. Not buying anymore hardware but is there a polishing stage I could use bfore the tech wax?

Am really happy with the results of what Im doing just wondering if an improvement can be made?

You could try #81 hand polish, this is more of an oily glaze and adds to the wet look, could be what you are looking for!

MB you thought about a SMART repair for that scratch, i bet it wouldnt be over a ton?
A what? Ive never heard of a SMART repair..its so deep I just assumed it would mean a respray :-(

Yes it will, they come out to you sand tha rae, fill it and respray it, I had my own car done recently by a very good one in Swindon, including dent repair, sand, fill all for £75, it actually looked better than new because by wet sanding it any orange peel in the paint was removed!

80 Can be used by hand but ius hard work. I would try there 82 Swirl Free Polish by hand, this worked for me for many years until I brought my PC.

Great work as ever, nice the results Brazo.

Hmmm something to consider then - Im just worried itll be difficult because the paints not metallic, I thought the whole panel will need respraying.

I havent had it done because I think they might f**k it up even more, how dumb is that?

Cheers Brazo Ill probably give 81 a try as it says its "hand polish" lol.

Zymol HD Cleanse has been my product of choice for that sorta stage until now.

HD Cleanse is a paint cleaner to remove old waxes, #81 wont do this but you could use HD and then #81

A flat colour is easier to work with than a metalic.

Going to wash and then apply the wax you gave me...best not to use the gold class shampoo then? something more mild as to not strip wax??. Also, how long do i leave the wax on? cheers Mark :)
