HU fitting advice

  Renault Clio
I'm looking to fit my Alpine HU and Ipod interface. I'm going to look at upgrading the speakers later.

I was just wondering how easy this is to do myself? Not a great DIY'er but wouldn't mind giving it a go!

Has anybody some advice on how to go about it?

Its easy to change and if you do have a problem you can always still drive the car.
Its almost plug in and go though now you need the tool to remove the radio or 4 small bits of metal/plastic to stick down the holes in the stereo to pull the old one out.

I had never even seen one being fitted when I attempted mine, took 10 mins max and that was reading the book to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

Had 4 mini screw drivers in the 4 holes, put my hand in the tape slot and pulled it out! Unplugged the 2 connectors, fitted the pioneer cage plugged the 2 connectors in, tested the HU to make sure it worked (it did), then slid the unit into the cage and that was that.

(Ohh yeah forgot to say, I needed an aerial adaptor (MK2 PH2 > Pioneer unit))

Just wondered, does it take more work/adaptors to make the HU work with the display/ or steering wheel control?

Or is this not possible?
