how to remove the Aluminum-look dashboard part?

Car is a Mk1 RS 172. Talking about the Aluminum-look dashboard part.

I want to get it re-painted, how would I remove it? Any pictures appreciated?

it does just clip in. not sure on the best way to get it out though. when someone hit into me my friends knees seemed to do the trick

Cloth and a screwdriver!

open the glove box and you can get ur fingers under it to pull it off, dont worry it wont snap off lol, passengers side if you have small fingers pull at it, if not as john said cloth and a screwdriver

Hold on, just realised you put a mk1. Do you mean the bit around the stereo and vents?

the silver around stereo and vents, they don't come out it stuck

is it bonded to the dashboard or at least to the center console?
