how much to cam my rsi

how much am i looking at to cam my 96 rsi? Will the head need to come off etc etc. what gains will i get increased rev limit more torque?

  Saxo VTS
Yeah the head will need to come off.

Rev limit is ECU based so unless you get a rempa no you won't.

As for gains... I don't know really, few bhp.

you can raise the rev limit with a remap which your going to need to get the most out of cams anyway is it really worth it on a RSi anyway arnt they 8valve engines with 120bhp or somthing?

110 bhp 8 valves i think. they are ok but not very exciting. prob more economical to sell the rsi and get a valver or something else

thanks mate got to weigh these things up after all. not worth spending 500 quid on a cam if it doesnt do much for a power increase

ive not got that much of a clue about engine tuning but from what ive read the valver engine would be the best option, then you can always cam that and get even more power :D

depends on what you want from the engine tbh... if your looking at straight line speed then a 16v engine is always going to be quicker than an 8v.

However looking for more track action then stick with the 8v... remap is essential if your looking at a cam but if you have £500 to spend turbo the 8v.
