How much should I be paying for a belt change, service and MOT

Hi,

My 182's five years old in a couple of weeks so due a belt change. I'm planning on getting both belts changed, plus a service and an MOT. Had a quote for £670 for the lot - does that seem reasonable? I know it's a 5.5 hour job just for the belts.

My insurance is due a week later and that's £656. I love the car but it's doing its best to ruin me!

Birchdown do belt changes for £435 not sure how much for a service but they do cheap belt changes and come highly reccomended, might be worth giving them a ring.

They look good but Cheshire's a bit of a trek for me (I'm in Cambridge). I'll shop around for a couple of other quotes but I don't think I'll get much better than £670. Plus I'd get to use their mighty bright red 1 litre V reg Micra courtesy car.
