700 is a bit low- but all depends on condition if its tatty then yeah 700 with work to do, if great cond 1300-

1k in the middle if its just ok-

it will break for 750 ish-1000

Problems - Needs new bonnet, needs tracking, auto lights don't work.

From what I've seen recently on here I'd say around £4k, but prices do seem to be all over the place at the mo.

Right, basically it's now time for me to get a new car (people might remember the C63 thread I made a whole ago lol), and I need to sell the Clio.

Not going to lie, it does need a little bit of work, and I simply don't have the time at the moment.

Cars spec:

172, 51 plate.
Cobra alarm
88900 miles
Pearl black



Things it needs:

CV joint (supplying a new drive shaft complete with CV joint, plus a spare cv joint on its own)

New drivers seat (bottom of the seat is pretty worn)

Needs a cambelt, well the previous owner (Midge on here) said it was done last year by a mate as a private job.

Has a strange misfire, but I'll probably get this fixed before I sell it anyway.


It's completely standard, just gave it some fresh plugs and a new throttle body.

So, be honest please. I know it's by far not the tidiest example around.

To my mind, £2200 seems an accurate assessment.

I'm currently looking for a new 172/182 and yours looks great, FWIW.

Jay, the only thing I'd say is - if the power steering leak is such a minor fix, get it done and aim to get more back...

The thing with RS clios is the market is really low as is it if i got the tracking done and the power steering leak fixed i wouldn't be able to ask for more.

Taking them into account along with the short tax i think £2000 will be better a price.

Been advised by the garage Daniel.

Changed lamba sensor, plugs, plugs, coilpacks, leads, cps.

Misfire has swapped from cyl 3 to cyl 2. So he thinks its between failed on the join.

Quoted me £500-600 haha! So im contemplating selling it on as is, considering i bought it for £800 or fixing it and then making the full £800 back

See when you say belt done at that mileage that maybe done 4-5 years ago

Yes but cambelt has another 2 years in it whereas the aux belt has another couple of months in it keeping to schedule as I do about 15k miles a year
