Not sure how accurate this was ? But it says at the end of quarter 3 2017 there were 3121 still on the road and 1070 sorn.

What does this relate too?
I think there were 1529 PH1 172`s, 5451 PH2 172`s & 6261 182`s I/c Trophy registered in the UK.
As such, this from post 5 makes sense regarding 182`s, but I cannot relate the above to any of this.

Depends on who pressed the buttons at the DVLA. Or what was filled out on the registration paperwork.

Could also be imported cars, late registered 172s. Etc etc. No way to be sure.

Barking up the wrong tree there, I suspect.

As 172 Cup has its own heading @ 2231, it must relate to Ph2 standard non cups.

Guess PH1 172`s got lumped in elsewhere.

Only 1200 odd ph1's 172's were officially sold through Renault dealerships. Majority probably came from car supermarkets
