just wondering how engines are actually mounted to a car, and how the front suspension works.
Right. the engine mounts onto a subframe, and this is secured to the chassis? there is a top engine mount and a gearbox mount that go to other parts of the chassis?
are the swing arm bits of the suspension bolted to the subframe at one end, and then connected to the suspension turrets via the spring/damper assembly? the hubs and brake calipers bolted to the ends of the swing arms? and driveshafts come from the gearbox out to the hubs with CV joints on them?
this might sounds really basic to some guys just trying to think about how engine conversions and mounting works while im bored at work!!
