how do i check if my clocks are receiving the speedo signal?

If your Clio is the same as the missus' (03) then press and hold down the trip reset button. Whilst holding it down put the key in and turn the ignition on. Keep holding for a few more moments and you should begin to hear the 'no seatbelt' gong. All the dials should then dance around at different values to check the motors are all functional. When finished, just press the trip button again.

If i'm right, at least this will tell you that the dial motors are working.
