Got any links or further details fella?
Pretty much the same repeat mechanical issues as your 182:-
Gearbox - how much effort to cleanly shift to 2/3/4? Synchros aren't the strongest
Engine - Belts & dephasers done on time, by someone good?
Exhaust - If OEM, they're made of cheese.
Interior - Steering wheel melts, whole car becomes a rattle
Electrics - Does everything work?

If you've got a reg. number for it, maybe it's a former CS car.

Had a new clutch "a few weeks ago"...but still has a gearbox leak?
And it was stored for the best part of 3 years?
"proof of recent cambelts"
Recent? So were they done while it was in storage....since 2012?
It could be a winner, but if you're not a wrench-master and don't want to shock your bank account hard, I'd probably walk away :(

Then he can put a new one in properly then.
If the rest stacks up OK, then maybe you could put an offer in under the proviso he fits a new seal, properly this time :)
That said, if he's tried to do his own maintenance and fluffed that up, what else has he tried to do?

errrrrrrr
So he works at a gearbox place.....and cocked the job of doing the gearbox on his clio?
Must remember to not go for a new 'box at kettering! Lol

Avoid, hard.

depends on the condition of the parts really, but you could well be onto something there, sure :)
