Help needed quickly ? V maxx and AST don't go ?????

  ITB 428 Ph1
Hi,

My car is currently having my v maxx coileys fitted along with AST topmounts at a specialist performance centre, they have just informed me the AST topmounts need to be machined down to fit the spring. Is this true ? I've never heared of this issue ? So just my coileys and a full geometry is being done now ?

Any help or confirmation would be great ?

If the top mount fits on to the coilover then the spring platform needs to be raised to the top mount, not the other way round. Its going to be a bit hard to work out what the issue is by proxy though.

Okay, as pointed out by almost everyone, I need the correct top hat for the v maxx coilover ? Does anyone know where I can get it ?

why are you not able to use the AST top hat? The AST bearing is not going to fit in a V Maxx top hat. What spring diameter are the V Maxx? Will the top hat not physically fit inside the spring?

Correy, as I told you via PM. You don't need another top hat. If the ID on the spring is slightly too small for the AST top hat, you have to file some material off.

I had the same issue with my GAZ coilovers. A bit of filing later and they fitted snug.

Sorry guys I am very sorry, I really don't know a lot when it comes to these types of things, Nickson you are correct this would work, however is there another option ?

The spring does not fit inside the tophat ? I don't know the Diameter unfortunately !
