the fact that its cheaper to insure a 197 f1 than it is a 172 cup???
got some quotes earlier, 3 yrs driving, 3 yrs no claims, age 21,
3 point on sp30.

it was always cheaper
197 f1 just under £1000
172 just over £1000

any reasons for this, i though newer cars cost more to insure?

there wasnt that much difference between no points and 3 point tbh

they are pretty much ignoring 3 points now because its so easy to get them, and its more to do with personal injury claims than the value of the car, with the 197 being a lot safer in general hense if crashed theres less chance of serious injury
