Hand Brake - only on one side? :S

As title really, The other day, pulled up the hand brake and 'Snap' and now it seems as if only one back wheel is locking under the hand brake.

I was on a slight hill pointing down, and pulled up the hand brake and let go of the foot brake, and i felt the car raise up on just one side!

what could this be?

There are two handbrake cables, one of which has snapped.

You need to replace both with genuine parts.

I would have a garage do it personally, however if you want to do it yourself you're best off getting the parts from Renault Wolverhampton.

It's a bit of a pain as the cable is under the exhaust heat shield
