Hi all,
I,ve been mulling over the idea of an upgrade for a while and all of a sudden a spare £150 came my way so ......
I did a lot of forum searching for whats best ect and decided on these
Alpine 2 ch amp Alpine MRP-T222

Rainbow SLX 230 speakers

Wiring kit
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/audio-ak10-10awg-p-5454.html
I',ve got a mk2 phase2 5 door 1.6 privilege.
I want to keep the list head unit for the convenience of the stalk controls and I also have the alpine cd autochanger under the passenger seat.
My aim is to get better quality rather than slamming base(i'm 42 now and my teeth can't handle too much low frequency stuff).
I also have the problem of needing the boot space so i'm looking for advice on a practical install.
Obvously, I will need to use the speaker level inputs with this set up but I was wondering if the amp will go under the drivers seat and I could hook up from the front speaker cables from inside the dash.
It would be nice not to have to feed wires all the way tho the boot and back again.
My plan is to keep the rear door speakers for a bit of fill (learning the lingo already )
One thought was to go to the scrappy and rob the radio loom to plug into the h/u,and adapt a renault to iso connector to save tapping into the existing wiring (ready to put back to standard if I needed to sell).
I know the dash would have to come off to fit the tweeters but what about the door speakers.
Is it worth the hassle of rewiring the door speakers or just tap into the old wiring from the h/u.
Any advice would be great. I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron and meter but it would be good to get other peoples opinions before I let rip
Hope this makes sense,
Thanks in advance,
Martin.
