gearbox problem. (edde?!)

Bought me a gearbox but where the roll pin should go through there is what looks like metal that has been melted and set (like solder or something)

Have tried everything, smashing drilling crying lol.

Now have sore knuckles and am losing patients.

Any ideas?

Is there a driveshaft attached to the box?

From what I'm imagining drill the darn thing out.
