Gearbox mount

  clio sport 172
I have been told by my mechanic that my gearbox mount has had it, symptoms are when I pull away or accelate there's a sorta clicking noise, just wondered which one it could be and if there's a guide to fitting them? Any advice would be great

  172 cup, Impreza P1
From memory:
Remove battery
Remove airbox and inlet pipe
Remove ecu bracket
Take the weight of the gearbox with a trolley jack
Disconnect loom from mount
Remove 3 17mm bolts holding mount to gearbox
Remove 4 13mm bolts holding mount to chassis
Pull the mount free from the bay
Unbolt upper and lower parts of the mount and replace.
Reassemble in reverse

May have missed something but you should be able to work it out. Hope this helps.

If you get a clunking noise check the dog bone mount, then check the engine and gearbox mounts,
also worth giving the actual gearbox mount bracket a good once over,
my old one was badly cracked causing it to knock and bang.

Although tbh fair i've replaced all the mounts for uprated ones,
as everything was f*cked on mine.

Sounds like the dog bone mount to me mate,
mine was doing it last week despite having powerflex mounts, the nut had come loose.

It's worth getting powerflex dogbone mounts and just upgrading,
just make sure you use thread lock on the nut.

Should be ok to drive for a while, just don't go booting it about as it'll probably knacker something with the knocking.

Powerflex bogbone bushes are around £40 quid, so not an expensive fix.
