Gearbox fluid

Should I ever need to top the fluid up in the gearbox. I dont know if i being paranoid or maybe just a crap driver, but sometimes i feel that the car does not smoothly flow into the next gear.

Ho do i go about checking th fluid level etc???

The box tends to leak oil into its drip tray. I top mine up every 2 months and do a full change every 10k miles. you cant really check the level the best way is to pour some oil in until you cant get any more in.
