Gave the M5 a clean

She deserved this clean after being back and forth from painters.

Had the passenger side painted, front bumper, and rear bumper, they did a such a crap job originally I wish I never had it done. After 2nd attempt they did a much better job to include blending into front wings, repairing damage they did to front bumper, and blending into boot lid.

It's still a darker shade as you can see from the bottom pic, but all matches everywhere else. So much better job just slightly to dark. Will have to live with it now.

Silverstone II is a real hard colour to paint, has a blue tinge to it. No one would notice standing next to the car, in a few years the whole car will be stripped, resprayed and stored.

The doors don't match. I should know, I had a car painted once.

Just kidding mate, glad they came through for you in the end. They've done a good job repairing the bumper

Never buying a silver car again lol!

Properly cool car!

Ultimate practicality and insane V10. It'll never happen again.

I can't reply to your thread as not paid up! Looking very forward to seeing the new M3 very much the right decision.

Why did it need painted? I missed that?

Has it cost you anything in repairs? I presume you have a strong mechanical warranty for this.

Edit: also do I remember on these the whole boot floor slides out electronically to make loading easier? I think I've asked that before but I'm sure it was on topgear and they showed it...?!

That was the AMG in the top gear video, i owned one before this and had the sliding boot floor.

Just the usual stone chips on the front and two chunks out of the lower splitter (my fault). The rear 1/4 had a 2" square patch of laquer peel sonhad the whole side painted for matching reasons. Rear bumper had loading marks that you can't escape lol.

I wouldn't own one outside of BMW warranty. I pay £100 per month with £250 excess, already swallowed 6k just in parts....

That's in 13k milage since I have owned it and now on 66k.

What's needed changing/repairing for the £6k parts bill. Clutch/flywheel, SMG pump?

Ive been looking at these (saloon version about the same age as yours), but was wondering if it's possible to put a warranty on one of that age, if there no warranty present. I've read about people extending their existing warranty but it being difficult to start a warranty on a car without one once the car is over a certain mileage or age.

Aslong as it's under 60k with full
Bmw history you can add it on. I pay monthly as they can't increase the price that way. If you pay annually as it tips over 60k the cost doubles.

Mine has had new boot wiring loom, abs pump, alternator, aircon condenser, and throtttle actuators.

To be honest I did my research before buying and I knew 60k these parts would fail. Next will be shocks....

Use this site and reg no for prices.

Thought as much, if I buy a 2007/08 car with 70k-80k on it, thats had a service at a specialist then BMW warranties won't want to know.

Are you still on the original clutch?

Great cars and looks fine to me.
My step dad had one in blue but sold it after the fuel bills started to get a bit silly.
