Fuel light

My fuel light was on when i went to fill up and after i had filled up the needle was well off the red but the fuel light has stayed on any ideas ??.

i aint no mechanic or nowt but cud it not be a sensor or some wiring problems comin from your float,i hope that sounds rite for all those mechanics out there lol

on mine, the little computer tells me my tank is full when for the past few days its been half
