Flywheel + Insurance!

Hi there. I am wanting to put a lightened flywheel on my car but was wondering as to what this would come under for insurance as i plan to declare all modifications i do to my car! When insuring this, would a lightweight flywheel come under Transmission changes? thanks guys.

Last time I'd changed a flywheel I'd declared it as part of the uprated clutch kit. Insurer seemed fine with it.

Haha well im on like confused.com or compare the market or whatever and the specified options dont seem to have a clutch haha! Did you ring your insurer or do it another way? cheers

Yeah called them. Try specialist insurers if it's more than an air filter, lowered or an exhaust. I've always found them better to deal with and cheaper. Try companies like Brentacre, Greenlight, Adrian Flux etc.

Actually Brentacre give you an agreed power limit and leave you to do what you want within that. Give them a call for details on that though.
