floppy clutch

hi all,

did a search but didn't know what to look for or find anything.

when i go to my car in a morning the clutch pedal is floppy and after pumping it a couple of times, it stiffens up and acts normal. when driving along, there is a small amount of play with the pedal before it stiffens to press.

any ideas what this could be? is the clutch on the way out or is it a simple fix?

didn't know it made a difference...but a 182
